Top-5 Musicians Aging Pretty WELL

There are constant highs and lows throughout their life from searching desperately for a gig to performing in front of thousands. Under these circumstances lifestyle can put miles on the soul.

We constantly hear about musicians that end up in rehab or losing their careers to drugs and alcohol. Some of this can be blamed on their environment. It’s hard to stay abstinent while playing a party at night where almost everyone is drunk or high. Then there is the the fact that they are rich and when you’re rich you have the option to purchase the best of the best which isn’t always good when drugs are involved.

Lastly is permissiveness. Great musicians are hard to come by and when a record does find one, they are willing to go to great lengths to keep them. This includes looking the other way when they get themselves in trouble or find out there is a drug addiction. With all of these credible obstacles that may hinder a musician’s ability to age gracefully.

Surprisingly, there are some who somehow defy what seems to be the natural path of a rock star.

One of these outliers is Mick Jagger. The lead singer of the legendary rock band The Rolling Stones was born on July 26, 1943 and has somehow kept wrinkling and the inevitable toll of his rock and Roll lifestyle at bay.

Bob Dylan was born on May 24, 1941 and has been a great influence in the music industry for decades. He is currently 75 years old and is in the midst of releasing an album titled Triplicate.

Singer-song writer Carly Simon has also found a way to defy father time. Born on June 25, 1945 the Grammy winning artist is still releasing music and looks good doing it. She just recently released a song titled I Can’t Thank You Enough with her son Ben Taylor and there’s no reason to think that she won’t continue doing so.

The Boss or when he walks among the mundane Bruce Springsteen was born on September 23, 1949 and looks absolutely amazing. The E Street Band singer will be 68 years old by the end of the year and he looks like he could pass for 45.

Rounding out this list is the lovely Pat Benatar. The four time Grammy Award winner was Born on January 10, 1953. From time to time she still performs for her loving fans and doesn’t disappoint.

It’s true that the life of a musician can take a toll but it’s also evident that it’s not always the case.
